Below are some short descriptions and evaluations of some of MOO environments that I have looked at in order to gain a better idea of what kind of work is being done in this area at the moment. At the present time there are over 400 such virtual environments on the Internet, so the ones that I mention below are those few which I have had time to look at in some more detail, and my more general impressions and evaluations of what they have to offer at the present time, in terms of their own presentations of themselves, and the general "atmosphere" these presentations create.
