Since I decided to wait until the Fall semester of 1995 to begin with a pilot study of a group of students taking part in a course in hypermedia in humanities studies, the first part of this description uses myself as a case. In this sense this is a "thick description" of my own entry into a wider MOO-culture. It is important to point out that this initial description, too, contains a fairly limited amount of materials from other interlocutors' points of view, and is as such, mostly a perspective generated from my own point of view. At later stages, I hope to be able to introduce many other points of view through more comprehensive interview, conversational and interpretative materials.
